  • I too am interested in the ability to view JT files with a Hololens. I’m aware JT2Go is available as a 2D anchored viewer and we can also convert the .jt to .fbx and use Unity for small JT files. Hopeful there will be a native JT viewer with more functionality (ability to turn on/off parts, load larger assemblies, measure) soon for Hololens.

  • I am using JT2GO App with Hololens.

I get an error when i try to load new models into the app.

    “Error while loading”

Is there something to consider when loading JT models to the App using Hololens.

  • Hi,

JT2Go does support Hololens as described above, in an anchored viewing pane. The Hololens is a low powered device so JTGo will currently only load small files.

We are currently working on a Unity JT Plugin, this will allow developers creating Unity worlds to read JT into active sessions. Our timeline for this is later this summer. We will include some sample code with the plugin but a JT2Go viewer that supports holographic content is a ways off.

  • The file size of the JTs I was trying to load were 2MB and 6MB. I am glad to hear though that there is works on a plugin. Is there a beta group that I can sign up for to test this out? Will the JT2Go app be similar to the 3D Viewer Beta app that is in the Hololens now?

  • Thank you very much for your quick response. I thought I found some months ago a free JT to FBX converter from Autodesk but cannot find it anymore. Was it removed from the Autodesk website?

  • We have a HoloLens app called iQagent which associates process data and documents with Points Of Interest on the plant floor. We are trying to show JT2Go files on it but it keeps failing. File size is 15MB.

When will the Unity Plug in be available for JT2Go files? We have customers interested in this as well.

Any updates on the Unity Plug-in to speak of

  • We are testing a beta of the plugin now, target release is beginning of December, so about 2 weeks from now. The JT for Unity plugin will be available from the GTAC download site for JT Open Program members and Teamcenter Vis customers.
