The 58th DAC will be held at the Moscone Center West from December 5-9, 2021. I have been honored with an amazing opportunity to serve as this year\u2019s DAC General Chair, and working with the DAC executive committee we have put together what I feel is a remarkable technical program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DAC has always been a unique event and this year is no exception. In addition to our exhibits, <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/organization\/?inst=3614225536539506210\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Siemens EDA has 42 employees actively participating in the technical program<\/a>, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 Invited Industry Analyst Review<\/li><li>2 DAC Pavilion Panel<\/li><li>1 Tutorial<\/li><li>7 Designer\/IP\/Embedded Track Presentations<\/li><li>10 Posters<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog I plan to highlight a few of the Siemens EDA DAC program events that I plan to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2021\/09\/jsawicki-headshot-large-1200x1600_tcm27-91100-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16590\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The first event I want to highlight is an invited analyst perspective of the electronic industry given by Joe Sawicki, executive vice president, Siemens EDA IC. Joe\u2019s talk, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/presentation\/?id=A_R102&amp;sess=sess230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digitalization\u2014The Return to Outsize Growth for the Semiconductor Industry<\/a>, focuses on a massive reinvigoration of the semiconductor industry that will put us on a dramatic growth trajectory. Joe\u2019s talk is scheduled for Monday, December 6<sup>th<\/sup> at 10:15am PST right after the keynote in the DAC Pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second event I want to highlight is a Designer Track session organized by Siemens EDA\u2019s Tom Fitzpatrick, and is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/session\/?sess=sess208\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UVM is 10 Years Old: What&#8217;s Next?<\/a>, and is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8<sup>th<\/sup> at 1:30pm PST. The Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) is now 10 years old. In the past decade, the UVM ecosystem has grown to dominance of our industry, but what about the next 10 years? This session has put together a distinguish set of invited speakers, including Siemens EDA\u2019s Ray Salemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third event I want to highlight is another Designer Track panel moderated by Siemens EDA\u2019s Dennis Brophy, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/presentation\/?id=DESINV109&amp;sess=sess213\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UVM: Where the Wild Things Are<\/a>. This panel will focus on specific enhancements being planned or considered to be added for the next revision of UVM IEEE 1800.2. Panelists have strong backgrounds in UVM development as current or past members of the UVM-WG in Accellera and\/or IEEE and equally strong opinions on what is needed to keep UVM growing and relevant for functional verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, the fourth event I want to highlight is a DAC Pavilion panel, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/presentation\/?id=PAV105&amp;sess=sess219\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Design and Verification Engineer 2.0\u2014A New Generation or a Pipe Dream?<\/a>, and is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th at 2:00pm PST. This panel will debate the question \u201cWill future DV engineers need to reinvent themselves and evolve into DV Engineer 2.0 who leverages AI\/ML?\u201d Siemens EDA\u2019s Duaine Pryor is one of the distinguished panelist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/58dac.conference-program.com\/organization\/?inst=3614225536539506210\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Siemens EDA technical participation at this year\u2019s DAC<\/a> by visiting the online program.
