Realize LIVE Detroit – Teamcenter Manufacturing with Easy Plan recap

Siemens flagship event in the motor city brought together innovators from our user, partner and expert community to share and gather knowledge, experiences and insights with real-world case studies, live demos, hands-on training, and expert tips. Thank you to all the sponsors, attendees, presenters, and organizers for this amazing event!

We had a great start to Realize LIVE with a 2025 Detroit Grand Prix win from the Siemens-sponsored No. 27 AWS Honda IndyCar, driven by Kyle Kirkwood.

Excitement was in the air! We welcomed over 3,000 innovators and an agenda of over 450 sessions around design, manufacturing and lifecycle management. Digital manufacturing topics in focus included part manufacturing, part and assembly process planning, manufacturing operations, quality, factory layout, simulation, virtual commissioning, logistics, data analytics, product sustainment and aftermarket service. The takeaway from sessions around these topics? They all drive home the importance of a comprehensive digital twin that threads together data in context, when it’s needed.

Digital manufacturing – Teamcenter Manufacturing with Easy Plan

In his insightful main stage presentation, Frank Helmke, Global Digital Services – Head of Product Lifecycle Management, BSH Home Appliances Group, talked about the value in connecting the product and factory via the digital twin, enabling BSH to drive engineering excellence, increase efficiency, and stay ahead of their competitors.

Adam Shepherd, Northrop Grumman Fellow for Digital Transformation, shared how the aerospace and defense leader uses Siemens tools to reduce rework, improve manufacturing-engineering integration, and get from initial design to first flight, faster than ever. In addition to Adam’s amazing presentation, Eliot Horner,  NGC Teamcenter Easy Plan lead, along with Siemens’ Kyle Dykes, went into the details on how NGC is using EBOM/MBOM alignment, high level planning, and work instruction authoring in a single digital ecosystem for greater efficiencies in manufacturing.

We also heard about the importance of a comprehensive digital twin that spans design and manufacturing in sessions from Ford Motor Company. Kandasamy Subramanian, Global Director Manufacturing Technology Development & Innovation, Ford Motor Company, in his presentation with Siemens’ Larry Bemis, shared insights in addressing complex manufacturing in the automotive industry, and highlighted key experiences in the digitalization journey.

Dave Doody and Stewart Eddy also shared best practices in Teamcenter Easy Plan, Teamcenter Quality, and Teamcenter DPV to achieve cost savings by sharing data between multiple applications across design and manufacturing business domains.

Branden Ramsey, Senior Director of Digital Manufacturing Axiom Space, and Alex Hanby, from Siemens partner Engineering Industries eXcellence (INDX), presented on how INDX and ATA Engineering partnered with Axiom Space to deliver an ambitious digital transformation roadmap powered by Siemens technology. Using Teamcenter and Opcenter, Axiom Space has established an integrated framework to support the design, manufacturing and sustainment of its pioneering space station and spacesuits—delivered under aggressive timelines to meet the demands of space exploration.

“Siemens Xcelerator solutions for digital manufacturing help us connect the dots between design and manufacturing leveraging a comprehensive digital twin with closed loop processes to lower costs and reduce risks.” -Branden Ramsy, Axion Space

SHL Medical leverages Teamcenter Easy Plan and Tecnomatix Process and Plant simulation to realize benefits of closed-loop manufacturing. In their session, Harsh Bafna, Head IT PLM & SCM Competence Center, Global Digital Transformation, Fabian Hoefer, Global Business Process Owner PLM, and Thomas Winkler, from Siemens partner Avasis, shared how they are transforming product design at SHL medical into scalable manufacturing.

In the Paslin Manufacturing Assembly and Automations Systems session with presenters Joe Perkins, CEO and Greg Prychodko, CIO, along with Siemens Todd Bengtsson, discussed how deploying a single backbone in the cloud to support dedicated automotive assembly applications helps Paslin to streamline activities between all groups involved in engineering and installation of projects (mechanical, electrical, design, layout) with less duplication of data, improved collaboration, efficient change management, and less time for project completion.

Bernard Biron, Director of PLM Applications at Saratech, a Siemens partner, walked  us through the journey of a well-known motorhome company which implemented a full digital thread on Teamcenter, including Cad BOM, eBOM, mBOM and Bill of Process, all of which are configured using Product Configurator. Bernard shared deployment best practices and lessons learned that could be useful to anyone about to embark on a similar digitalization journey.

And finally, Siemens hosted sessions on Teamcenter Manufacturing with Easy Plan including hands-on training delivered by Jason Barret and a technical session presented by Vikrant Bawankule and Kerri Doyle.

Throughout the event – from main stage presentations, customer forums, industry and solution sessions to conversations with customers and innovators – one thing became very clear – digital manufacturing is no longer optional—it’s essential in achieving digitalization success.
