I want to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. How did I get into this\nsituation in the first place?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. How to get rid of this\nmessage?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I\nsuspect you created a feature in the assembly and either selected the option\n&#8220;Create Assembly-Driven Part features&#8221; or it defaulted to that option\nby having the checkbox selected at the bottom of the Assembly Feature Options\ndialogue box. There are links between the part and the assembly that need to be\nupdated in order to open the part.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"440\" height=\"247\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/02\/TnT31_03.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11232\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You could open the assembly, go to the Tools tab, and select the Inter-Part Manager. In the Inter-Part Links, window, select the option &#8220;Show all links&#8221; in the dropdown. Right-click on the top-level assembly within the Inter-Part Links window &amp; select the option &#8220;Break Links&#8221;, this should keep the features, but remove the links between the part and the assembly. But I am unable to select key points\nlike center points or midpoints on other geometry on the assembly to anchor my\nsketch to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it even possible to do\nthis with 3D-Sketches? I tried to check in the Solid Edge Options but don&#8217;t find anything about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip<\/strong>: To\nturn ON the physical thread option. You have to set that &#8220;Enable Physical\nThread Option&#8221; Value =Yes, in options.xml. To make this change follow the\nsteps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Copy SEAdmin.exe to\nSolid Edge installed program folder. Usually it is C:\\Program\nFiles\\Siemens\\Solid Edge 2021\\Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. SEAdim.exe is located in\nSolid Edge setup folder (Solid Edge\\SptTools\\SEAdmin\\SEAdmin.exe).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Run SEAdmin.exe &gt;\nOptions dialog is opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Go to the end of the\noptions dialog having the text &#8220;Enable Physical Thread Option&#8221; and\nset the value to yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Click Save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. It will ask to save at the options file to a shared location. Save it to the shared location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Launch Solid Edge and Go\nto application menu &gt; Settings &gt; Options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Open Prop Man from SE or Design Manager when there\nis no file open.
