Since press and drag operations are not obvious hence they remain unexplored. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This article shows some of those available in Solid Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.surfandcode.in\/2014\/01\/index-of-all-tutorials-on-this-solid.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>Compiled by Tushar Suradkar<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong>In a Draft document, press-and-drag a DWG or DFT file from the Library panel into the sheet to insert the drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"489\" height=\"284\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD03.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10988\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, press-and-drag Excel, Word, or PDF files and also\nimages in the JPG format to display the contents directly on the sheet in Solid\nEdge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"165\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD04.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10989\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> You can also Press-and-Drag files directly from the Windows Explorer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> On the Sketching tab of the ribbon, under the Line command drop-down,  is a special command called Freehand which is a quick way to create concept sketches and subsequently create Synchronous models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"459\" height=\"330\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD05.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10990\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Freehand command lets you draw shapes using press-and-drag and converts them auto-magically to fully constrained Solid Edge 2D sketches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"234\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD02.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10991\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You have full control over the 2D entities recognized from the raw shapes by enabling\/disabling them from the Command bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"47\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD06.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10992\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The recently added Draw command additionally recognizes\nelliptical arcs and splines or curves. The Draw command can also work in a Trim\nmode and this can again be switched from the Command bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The Draw command is available on Windows 10, version 1607 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"171\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD01.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10993\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Use the Trim Corner command to rectify imperfections in imported DWG or DXF files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"458\" height=\"277\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD08.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10994\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The image shows how a press and drag over open or overlapping\ncorners not only trim them to perfection but also adds the Connect relation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"356\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD07.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10995\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> When you import DXF or DWG which do not have imperfections, they still do not have 2D relations added automatically. Use Press and Drag to connect endpoints quickly by dragging one endpoint over another endpoint or midpoint or center as required and the necessary relations are added automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"388\" height=\"323\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/sePAD09.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10996\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Selecting objects is at the heart of modifying objects.
