This release brings a host of new features and enhancements designed to improve simulation robustness, accuracy, and user experience. Here’s a sneak peek into what’s coming in the next release of Simcenter Madymo.

Head Injury Risk Prediction

Understanding injuries is paramount to our work, and our latest updates reflect our commitment to enhancing occupant protection. In line with the Euro NCAP TB035 protocol, we have augmented our methods to evaluate the risk of relatively less severe head injuries in addition to the preexisting criterion for severe head injuries. This update helps OEMs develop safer vehicle designs.

Time Evolution of Head Injury Risk

Understanding the evolution of head injury risks during a frontal impact is crucial for designing safer vehicles. In 2506, we have made the DAMAGE criterion available as a time history output. This enhancement allows users to identify key moments of head impact and the direction contributing most to overall head injury risk. This feature empowers users to make informed design changes for better safety.

Inclusion of Injury Risk Metrics in Dummy Models

To meet regulatory requirements and improve occupant safety simulations, we have incorporated updated DAMAGE and Iliac Force Drop criteria in various dummy models. This inclusion allows users to quantify injury risks more effectively and use the Iliac Force Drop as a check for submarining. These predefined injury criteria are readily available as simulation output, eliminating the need for additional postprocessing.

Efficient Submission of Multiple Coupling Simulations

Launching multiple FE-coupled simulations can be challenging and often leads to launch errors. With the new start-up script “madymo_mult_cpl,” users can now launch multiple coupling simulations simultaneously or in quick succession, provided they have sufficient tokens. This feature makes the coupled simulation submission process more efficient. Making today the best time ever to enjoy the benefits of Altiar radioss coupled with Simcenter Madymo.

Enhanced Edge-Contact Modeling

One of the significant updates in R2506 is the enhancement to the Simcenter Madymo Edge-Contact Modeling. This improvement addresses the challenge of simulations stalling because the contact edge does not account for failed elements. By correcting edge element contact relations, we have improved the robustness of coupled simulations with Altair Radioss.

Simcenter Madymo Workspace Updates

The 2506 release also brings several updates to the Simcenter Madymo Workspace. Notable improvements include better handling of animation files when MADPost is started as an external Post Processor and an extension of the Color Selector in the Display Settings dialog of the Geometry Viewer. Additionally, the loading times for large session files in MADPost have been significantly reduced, enhancing user efficiency.

Stay Updated with Simcenter Support Center

Users can visit the Simcenter Support Center to download, detailed release notes and further information.
