The driving robot was developed to address the testing and simulation communities’ needs to get the most accurate and repeatable testing possible.

The driving robot enables engineers to perform more repeatable and accurate testing for evaluation and characterization. It equips teams to objectively study vehicle behavior in a control room and offers seamless integration with Siemens software and hardware. It offers repeatability of testing, helping engineers reduce product development time and costs by increasing the accuracy of the results. This in turns enables companies to bring products to market faster. Additionally, the ability to objectively study vehicle behavior reduces guesswork and gives engineers more confidence that test results will match real-world behavior.

Starting from the beginning of the process to the end, everything becomes more convenient with the robot. Installation is simple, and the calibration process easily accounts for all driving styles and vehicle characteristics. You can rest assured yours will be accounted for!

The robot comes equipped with more than 5 times the load required to run a Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC). The customization aspect is such a huge plus. It includes sizing, that can be fully customized on-demand, as well as advanced control over vehicle speed.

All of these aspects are suitable for multiple vehicle architectures, including electric and hybrid vehicles. Overall, the robot is the ideal component for vehicle energy analyses and is perfectly adaptable for all testing.

Watch this video to see the driving robot in action!

To see the driving robot in our VEM facility, click here to take a virtual tour:

https://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/global/en/resource/vehicle-energy-management-facility-virtual-tour/101130

Meet Simcenter Engineering and Consulting Services’ vehicle energy management (VEM) driving robot.
