You can rest assured that safety is a top priority for the automotive OEMs experimenting with this technology. These&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>firms&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>are evaluating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmw.com\/en\/automotive-life\/autonomous-driving.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">active safety and&nbsp;<\/A><\/SPAN><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmw.com\/en\/automotive-life\/autonomous-driving.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><SPAN>autonomous driving functionalit<\/SPAN><SPAN>ies<\/SPAN><\/A><SPAN>&nbsp;in a virtual environment with driving simulators by putting the&nbsp;<\/SPAN><I><SPAN>human<\/SPAN><\/I><SPAN>&nbsp;in the virtual loop<\/SPAN><SPAN>. What does this mean? D<\/SPAN><SPAN>rivers and engineers are now able<\/SPAN><SPAN>&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>to experience the&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>vehicle performance<\/SPAN><SPAN>&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>in a&nbsp;safe and realistic&nbsp;environment<\/SPAN><SPAN>&nbsp;and analyze the&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>behavior&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>through<\/SPAN><SPAN>&nbsp;changing the&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>vehicle&#8217;s&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>model and settings.<\/SPAN><SPAN data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/SPAN><\/P><\/p>\n<p><P><SPAN>Our team originally developed a motorcycle simulator during the&nbsp;<\/SPAN><SPAN>EC Marie Curie research project \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.motorist-ptw.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">MOTORIST<\/A><\/SPAN><SPAN>\u201d to study human behavior during dangerous traffic scenarios.
