SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT – Lessons from Building a Smart Factory

By Claudia Basso

Realize LIVE special session

Take it from a key manufacturing leader: the transition to smart factories is successful only when the deployment team keeps its focus on the factory’s core mission, to build products that meet or exceed customer expectations and to outpace the competition in time-to-market and manufacturing cost.

In a special session at Siemens Realize LIVE forum, industry expert Attila Lengyel will discuss this and other critical lessons that Western Digital Corporation (WDC) has learned as the company continues to build smart factories. The session will cover:

  • The steps required to build an analytics organization able to successfully bridge silos

  • Key success factors of smart factory projects

  • Key analytics technologies that enable smart factories

Attila is WDC’s director of strategy, innovation & adoption, data analytics. A native of Hungary, Attila lived in Japan where he completed his PhD in Systems Science and led an operations research team at Hitachi Ltd. before moving the U.S. and joining WDC in 2013. He has led the development and implementation of key business solutions at global factory sites, including simulation-driven shop floor scheduling and dispatching, data analytics-driven capacity planning, machine learning-based dynamic final product testing, and strategic inventory management.

Realize LIVE, the industry’s largest gathering of Siemens Digital Industries software professionals in a single forum, is taking place June 10-13, 2019 at the Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.

With seats filling quickly for this session, we encourage our MOM community to visit the Realize LIVE website and register.
