What’s New in Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management – Fall 2412

This fall, Siemens introduced exciting updates to Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) to help you deliver better service outcomes. From usability updates for managing Service BOMs to more efficient physical asset workflows, this release is packed with features to make your work easier and more effective. We’re also thrilled to introduce Product Support Data Management (PSDM) in this Teamcenter SLM release. This new feature creates a comprehensive digital thread linking system design, product design, logistics, and sustainment. PSDM is designed to help OEMs build products that are easy to maintain, reliable, and efficient, focusing on the entire product lifecycle.
Introducing Product Support Data Management (PSDM)

PSDM captures and organizes product knowledge in compliance with the GEIA-STD-0007 Version C standard. PSDM, also referred to as system sustainment, is the package of support functions required to maintain the readiness and operational capability of weapons systems, subsystems, software, and support systems.
Key benefits of PSDM include:
- Enhanced Product Design: Supports maintainability, reliability, and testability, integrating supportability and logistics considerations to optimize asset lifecycle and improve designs.
- Cost and Resource Efficiency: Provides cost visibility and streamlines resource planning, reducing service expenses and maximizing lifecycle efficiency.
- Data-Driven Maintenance: Enables condition-based maintenance by incorporating reliability criteria and failure modes early in the design process, leveraging accurate, up-to-date configuration data for digital transformation.
With PSDM, organizations can manage logistics product data (LPD) in a single system, simplifying provisioning and reducing lifecycle costs. This is particularly beneficial for industries that require meticulous product support planning and execution.
Enhancements to Service BOM Management

This release also brings significant usability updates to Service BOM (Bill of Materials) management, making it easier than ever to ensure accuracy and efficiency:
- Single View Service BOM Page: Author and edit the Service BOM without linking to a work package, with support for bulk property edits.
- Automated Partition Creation: Use recipe-based partition schemes to quickly create and populate partitions, saving time and effort.
- Improved Visualization: Enhanced configuration and visualization options ensure a clear understanding of structures and their relationships.
These updates reduce the manual workload and improve the speed and accuracy of Service BOM operations.
Efficient Service Planning and Physical Asset Management
Service planning is now more flexible with the ability for service plan owners to transfer dataset ownership to any user, regardless of role or group, fostering seamless collaboration and adaptability across teams. The “Add More” button further enhances efficiency by enabling the quick creation of multiple service plan objects, reducing effort, and streamlining workflows.

In Service Asset Management, maintenance, and servicing are optimized with bulk edit support, allowing users to change dispositions for multiple physical parts simultaneously, saving time and improving efficiency. Smart warnings for non-operational part installations facilitate better decision-making, while disposition history updates, aligned with manufacturing date changes, ensure accurate tracking. Enhanced structure management features, such as static and recipe-based partitions, enable quick part location within large structures, and visual comparison tools with color-coded indicators simplify the identification of structural differences for improved precision.
Teamcenter SLM for Salesforce
Teamcenter X SLM empowers Salesforce users by streamlining collaboration between service, engineering, and sales teams for improved customer and product lifecycle management. New features include seamless integration for efficient data sharing, visual indicators for data source clarity, and smart tooltips for better decision-making and transparency.
Create work plan templates

Service Planners can now create detailed Work Plan Templates by leveraging service data from Teamcenter Service Requirements. These templates ensure consistency and accuracy in maintenance planning. A filtering capability makes finding and selecting the right template easier, simplifying the process of creating work orders for specific assets.
Improved Service Work Instructions with Motion Visuals

Technicians now benefit from Service Work Instructions, including motion-based parts visuals using Rapid Author content. These improved instructions provide clear, step-by-step guidance, allowing technicians to visualize each maintenance step, improving accuracy and reducing errors during service execution.
With this release, Teamcenter SLM enhances service lifecycle management by incorporating features like PSDM, improving usability in core modules, and enhancing platform connectivity. These advancements empower you to optimize your service operations and deliver unmatched customer value.
