The process is the same process used to develop design controls for a medical device without the requirement for compliance with ISO 62304 [white paper: <A href=\"https:\/\/www.polarion.com\/products\/medical\/iec_62304_compliance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Achieve Fast Compliance with IEC 62304<\/A>]. Larger medical device firms usually assign this task to their IT department.<\/p>\n<p><CENTER><A href=\"http:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/legacyfs\/online\/siemensplm_blogs\/2016\/04\/Medical-0412.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8713 nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><IMG class=\"wp-image-8713 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/legacyfs\/online\/siemensplm_blogs\/2016\/04\/Medical-0412.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"458\" height=\"305\" \/><\/A><\/CENTER><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Documents typically used in establishing the Software Validation are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><STRONG>The <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.polarion.com\/cloud-computing-and-software-validation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Software Validation Plan<\/A><\/STRONG><br \/>\nA document outlining the project milestones, deliverables and participant responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p><STRONG>System Work Instructions<\/STRONG><\/p>\n<p>Work instructions to be used in the software validation effort<\/p>\n<p><STRONG>The Software Requirements Specification (SRS)<\/STRONG><\/p>\n<p>This document describes the details of the user needs, system, and design requirements, physical hardware requirements, design architecture (including a network diagram), training, and integrations with other systems.<\/p>\n<p>Part 11 compliance, safety, and risk analysis should also be part of building the inputs for V&amp;V.<\/p>\n<p>The image below describes the design element traceability required for this task.<\/p>\n<p><CENTER><A href=\"http:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/legacyfs\/online\/siemensplm_blogs\/2016\/04\/Larryblogimg1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8708 nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><IMG class=\"wp-image-8708 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/legacyfs\/online\/siemensplm_blogs\/2016\/04\/Larryblogimg1-1024x700.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"274\" \/><\/A><\/CENTER><STRONG>Software Verification Protocol<\/STRONG><\/p>\n<p>Test protocol for verification of software requirements. Consider how these documents, which are really containers for your design inputs, traceability and evidence will be compiled and presented to product stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><B>Polarion is a great tool for creating requirements in the context of documents familiar to regulators.
