Polarion Looks Forward to Partnership with OWL University

By MichaelH1

Polarion Software looks forward to providing professional services and expertise to SmartFactoryOWL, an initiative of the Fraunhofer-Society and the OWL University of Applied Sciences.

Working to support the “DiMan” research program, we will support the project for two years – as researchers look to integrate and adjust hardware and software development processes in the Industry 4.0 era.

Here is what Dr. Oliver Hermann, president of OWL University, noted of the recent news:

“We are glad to have found such high-profile partners with Siemens and Polarion. An application-oriented research – such as in the field of Industry 4.0 technologies – is benefitting from its proximity to the industry and vice versa.”

As software continues to eat the world, with millions of connected devices finding their way to the Internet of Things (IoT) – and I4.0 – each month, this momentum is expected to accelerate even further. It’s important for products and services to be ready to meet today’s I4.0 complexities – and be flexible enough to adapt to future challenges, too.

Here is what Andreas Deuter, head of the Laboratory for Computer Science in Engineering and Production, said:

“With support of two strong industry partners, we are able to generate practical applications for interdisciplinary product development for companies in the region OWL. Furthermore, research insights will get incorporated into teaching.”

On behalf of Polarion Software, we look forward to supporting the SmartFactoryOWL project!

Application lifecycle management (ALM) is a vital asset as part of the software development lifecycle, and adding product lifecycle management (PLM) makes I4.0 a more manageable experience. ALM-PLM helps your organization avoid putting faulty products on the market, while also optimizing processes and tools.
