Michael Taesch on AI in CAM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At Realize Live 2025 in Detroit, Taesch spoke with Engineering.com<\/em> about how Siemens is fusing AI into the CAM programming process within NX X Manufacturing. His message was clear: AI isn\u2019t here to replace engineers\u2014it\u2019s here to empower them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not here to replace the manufacturing engineer. We want to give them multiple processes, and it\u2019s up to the engineer to pick the right one based on his or her knowledge.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Michael Taesch<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The NX CAM Copilot, currently in beta, will generate multiple machining strategies for a given feature with just a couple of clicks. Starting with 2.5-axis and 3-axis machining, it provides engineers with intelligent options they can refine and customize to their company\u2019s standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 NX CAM Copilot can save 80% or more of the time that users would otherwise spend on CAM programming<\/em>,” Taesch explains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
