NX Hybrid Additive Manufacturing Takes the Spotlight at 3rd Additive/Aerospace Event

By Stephanie Aldrete

Last week Siemens PLM participated in the 3rd Additive/Aerospace Event, an annual networking event in Los Angeles, that features the latest news, developments and products from the hottest areas of additive manufacturing. The popular gathering hosted Fortune 100 companies including Airbus, United Alliance, and Microsoft to name a few.  Representatives from Siemens hosted an exhibit for meeting attendees that put the spotlight on our NX Hybrid Additive Manufacturing solution.

As part of the event, Vynce Paradise, Head of Complex Parts Machining, Siemens PLM Software and Michael Panzarella, Engineering Lead, DMG MORI’s Advanced Solutions Dept., co-presented, “Hybrid Manufacturing: Changing the Ways Aerospace Products Are Made.”  During the presentation, attendees heard from these leading pioneers of CNC machining technology about the latest advances in additive and hybrid manufacturing technology for the aerospace industry. With the advent of new technologies, materials, processes and software, 3D printing has moved from niche concept and prototype into mainstream production. And, finally attendees heard how hybrid manufacturing combines traditional CNC machining and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) on a single machine tool – and how it will change the paradigm for designing and manufacturing products on a global basis.
