ArtCenter College of Design<\/a> has adopted Designcenter NX\u2122, bringing industry-proven design technology into its 3D Modeling course. Through a software grant, students gain access to the same tools used by companies worldwide to develop products across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1930 in Pasadena, ArtCenter is a global leader in art and design education, offering programs across industrial design, visual arts, and applied disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designcenter NX is now fully integrated into an advanced CAD course for upper-level students preparing to enter the workforce. Through hands-on projects, students develop design solutions across a wide range of applications, from space exploration concepts to medical devices and consumer products. Many students are already familiar with Designcenter NX from internships, reinforcing its relevance in real-world workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUsing the same technology in the classroom that is used in industry ensures our students gain valuable real-world experience throughout their studies,\u201d said Damien Vizcarra<\/a>, Associate Chair of Product Design<\/a> at ArtCenter. He added, \u201cThe class is going very well. Students are excited about the fact that we are offering the course, especially since several of them have taken internships where Designcenter NX is used exclusively. They are embracing it the same way we did when Joseph and I were first trained on-the-job; it\u2019s a powerful tool that allows us to bring our ideas to life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joseph Choi<\/a>, Professor in the Undergraduate and Graduate Product Design Department and instructor of the course, highlights the strength of Designcenter NX in supporting a more complete design process: \u201cDesigncenter NX features advanced direct modeling and surfacing tools that allow students to refine their ideas and better understand the full design workflow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
