Successful Saratech User Club Event at the Siemens Costa Mesa office

On April 16th, Saratech welcomed their Regional User Club customers to the Siemens Digital Industries office in Costa Mesa for a full day of learning, networking, and hands-on sessions. Saratech was excited to welcome representatives from Cobra Puma Golf, Sonos, Czinger Vehicles, K2 Space, Hansen Engineering, and Swift Engineering. Having such a diverse and innovative group of customers in the same room is a guarantee for a strong and engaging event.

Engaging sessions from Siemens and Saratech on NX and digital threads
The morning started off with a welcome from Saratech’s VP of Marketing Andy Deo, followed by a keynote from NX Product Manager Derek England. Derek walked the attendees through NX innovations, including NX X and how digital threads are making a real-world impact for our customers. He shared a case study from Siemens Energy which showed staggering cost savings since they started implementing Siemens Xcelerator solutions. From there, Madison Rye, VP of PLM and Application Engineering at Saratech, broke down key steps for mastering the digital thread, and Mark Anderson, Manufacturing Solution Group Manager, shared a workflow case study that got a lot of heads nodding.
Customers learned about breakthrough innovations in NX Immersive

After a short break, Danny Sicking, Senior Director of NX Platform, took the stage for a look at the breakthrough innovations which NX Immersive Engineering has to offer – giving the audience a glimpse of where the future of design is heading. The customers then got to try Immersive Engineering for themselves, during the VR hands-on session in the afternoon. Red Villanueva, Product Manager, and Arthur Villarama, Application Engineer, gave attendees a chance to try out one of the new Sony head-mounted displays (HMD).

This recently released headset is a collaboration between Siemens and Sony and pairs seamlessly with immersive CAD software to bridge the gap between the real and digital worlds. With a 4K resolution per eye and the innovative ring and pointer controller, the Sony XR head-mounted display delivers the most precise and natural way to experience, interact and collaborate in 3D. This hands-on session got attendees very excited about the future of immersive engineering. You can learn more about the Sony XR head-mounted display and order one here.
Breakout sessions on NX, Teamcenter and NX CAM in the afternoon
In the afternoon, the customers split into three breakout sessions:
- NX Session: Tips, tricks, and a deep dive into Geolus Shape with Matt Ostmeyer and Blake Lipofsky
- PLM Session: Updates on Teamcenter and BOM management best practices with Michelle Simon and Adam Cassedy.
- CAM Session: Mark Anderson showed how you can seriously cut down process time using MDB, PMI, and ISV.

Before the day ended Saratech hosted an open Q&A roundtable, where everyone had a chance to ask questions and share insights from their own projects.
It was a great day of learning, reconnecting, and seeing where the future is heading.
