I hear it quite a bit these days from engineers. It\u2019s not just wisdom talking, wishing they could go back in time knowing all they know now. It\u2019s jealousy talking.<BR \/><BR \/>At Solid Edge University, Mike Evans from the <A href=\"http:\/\/www.hsv.k12.al.us\/schools\/high\/hct\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Huntsville Center of Technology<\/A> presented several commercial projects that high school students in Huntsville, Alabama, are involved with.<BR \/><BR \/>&nbsp;<A rel=\"attachment wp-att-11122 nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/17\/rocket-city-high-school-engineering-projects\/mike-evans-sm\/\"><IMG class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11122\" src=\"http:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/legacyfs\/online\/wordpress\/images\/2012\/07\/mike-evans-sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"262\" \/><\/A><BR \/><BR \/>The projects are so cool that even college engineers are returning to be mentors so they can get more hands-on experience.<BR \/><BR \/>So take a listen to my interview with Mike and learn more about the&nbsp;programs he mentions below.<!--more--><BR \/><BR \/>http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ii5WBLeaZic<BR \/><BR \/><A href=\"http:\/\/www.rocketcityspacepioneers.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Rocket City Space Pioneers<\/A> are out to prove commercial space exploration can be affordable and sustainable. The pioneers are a team of Alabama businesses and organizations. They are one of 26 teams attempting to win the <A href=\"http:\/\/www.googlelunarxprize.org\/prize-details\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Google Lunar X PRIZE<\/A>. The competition awards $30 million in prizes to the first privately funded teams who safely land a robot on the moon that then travels 500 meters and send images back to Earth. NASA works with the next generation of engineers on cost-effective hardware and soft goods. Students apply their science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills to develop real-world products for NASA.<BR \/><BR \/><A href=\"http:\/\/www.greenpower.co.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Greenpower<\/A> is a design-make-race challenge to promote sustainable engineering to young people.
