One event that I have presented at a number of times over the years is ESE Kongress, which takes place in Sindelfigen &#8211; near Stuttgart, Germany. The next one takes place 2-6 December \u2026<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cESE\u201d stands for \u201cEmbedded System Engineering\u201d and this is the core focus of the conference. Most of the sessions are delivered in German, so I am always pleased when they accept a submission from me that they know will be in English.<\/p>\n<p>This year I have a single session [at <strong>08:50 on Wednesday 4 December<\/strong>] :<\/p>\n<h4>Selecting an Embedded Operating System<\/h4>\n<p><em>Most modern embedded systems employ an operating system [OS] of some kind, and this necessitates some critical design decisions. Should you obtain a commercially available OS, choose one of the &#8220;free&#8221; offerings, or develop one in-house? If the acquisition of a commercial OS is planned, how do you make the selection? This session reviews in detail all the facets of the make vs. buy and OS selection decisions &#8211; both technical and commercial &#8211; for an OS on an embedded design.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you are attending ESE, do come along and say Hi [or \u201cgr\u00fc\u00df Gott\u201d perhaps].
