This year is no exception. I recently did a round trip to attend two conferences in Germany and France &#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>ESE Kongress, Stuttgart, Germany<\/h2>\n<p>This is an annual, week-long conference with a small exhibition. It is very focused on the German domestic market and most sessions are delivered in German. However, I am pleased that they do allow a few language-challenged presenters, like me, to participate. It does, unfortunately, mean that I can gain little from attending other sessions. My presentation was How to Measure RTOS Performance. As has commonly been the case in the past, I was invited to deliver a keynote on the second day. My talk was titled Embedded Software is Everywhere &#8211; a detailed review of the role of software in a consumer device.
