{"id":2468,"date":"2011-12-05T11:02:36","date_gmt":"2011-12-05T10:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.mentor.com\/colinwalls\/?p=2468"},"modified":"2026-03-26T16:36:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T20:36:26","slug":"on-the-road-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/embedded-software\/2011\/12\/05\/on-the-road-again\/","title":{"rendered":"On the road again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mentor.com\/colinwalls\/blog\/2011\/10\/03\/conference-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mentioned<\/a> that this time of year is very busy for me, with numerous conferences and similar events to attend &#8211; normally to deliver presentations. The most hectic period is past and, as the Christmas and New Year holiday approaches, things are settling down. Except for this week, when I am attending two conferences:<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, I am going to ESE Kongress in Stuttgart, Germany. I have two presentations there: &#8220;USB 3.0 &#8211; An Introduction for Embedded Software Developers&#8221; and &#8220;OS Selection for Embedded Systems&#8221;. I attended this event <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mentor.com\/colinwalls\/blog\/2010\/12\/14\/embedded-software-engineering-kongress-2010\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">last year<\/a>, giving a tutorial on C++ for embedded, and the conference seemed very well attended, so I have high expectations this year.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the week, I am going to IP SoC in Grenoble, France, where I have a keynote style session titled &#8220;Over 20 Years of Embedded Software Development &#8211; A Third Way Emerges&#8221; which will look at how open source is affecting embedded software development tools.
