{"id":5640,"date":"2017-11-09T13:31:05","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T20:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.mentor.com\/jimmartens\/?p=5640"},"modified":"2026-03-27T09:28:52","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T13:28:52","slug":"pcb-technology-leadership-award-winner-sienna-ecad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/electronic-systems-design\/2017\/11\/09\/pcb-technology-leadership-award-winner-sienna-ecad\/","title":{"rendered":"PCB Technology Leadership Award Winner: SIENNA ECAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019d like to congratulate the two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentor.com\/company\/news\/siemens-mentor-27th-pcb-technology-leadership-winners?cmpid=9049\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology Leadership Award winners<\/a> who used the PADS design flow on their boards.<\/p>\n<p>This week we\u2019ll look at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siennaecad.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIENNA ECAD Technologies<\/a> in India who took home a win in the Transportation and Automotive category with a design created by Krishna Murthy BS, Raghava Charyulu V, and Savita R. Ganjigatti.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5641\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2017\/11\/Blog-TLA-PADS-1-520x198.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<p>SIENNA ECAD\u2019s design is a debug board for DUT. The judges particularly noted the extremely dense placement. The design team used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pads.com\/resources\/overview\/physical-design-reuse-312992d8-c235-48b8-953c-59655430e1be?cmpid=9049\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PADS Physical Design Reuse<\/a> to assist them with the placement of 48 identical channels. Constraint management was a huge challenge, including restrictive placement keepouts, large trace clearances for analog signals, and length matching for many high-speed traces, including the serial peripheral interface (SPI) bus.
