Joint Announcement

A new partnership to accelerate Europe’s deep tech

Siemens Cre8Ventures and Cloudberry VC

A new partnership connecting venture capital, industrial validation and early customer access for Europe’s next generation of deep tech innovators.

Europe is producing world class innovation in semiconductors, photonics, quantum technologies, AI hardware, advanced sensing and robotics, much of it emerging from universities, research labs and ambitious first time founders. What many of these companies lack is not breakthrough technology. It is a faster path to industrial deployment, customer validation and commercial scale.

Siemens Cre8Ventures and Cloudberry VC are pleased to announce a new, first of a kind partnership built to close that gap. The collaboration brings together early stage venture capital, industrial digital twin validation, access to natural customers and routes into industrial, mobility and energy markets, supported where relevant by non dilutive EU Chips Act funding pathways.

The partnership is non exclusive on both sides. Cloudberry VC continues to work with its full network of strategic LPs, corporate partners and co investors across Europe and beyond. Siemens Cre8Ventures continues to engage with the wider venture ecosystem. The collaboration is a platform relationship, not an exclusive arrangement, and it does not involve Siemens taking equity in or making investments into start ups. Siemens’ role is industrial validation and customer access through the Cre8Ventures platform. Investment decisions remain entirely with Cloudberry VC and other investors in any given round.

The aim is simple. Shorten the distance between technical promise and commercial reality.

What Cloudberry VC brings

Cloudberry VC is Europe’s first specialist venture capital fund dedicated to semiconductors, photonics and advanced materials. We back foundational deep tech companies at pre seed and seed stage across compute and electronics, photonics, connectivity and sensing, and advanced materials and tools. Our partners and advisors come from the industry itself, with operating backgrounds at companies like ASML, which gives us the technical depth to move quickly on early stage deals that most generalist funds cannot evaluate.

We work closely with founders from the first cheque, helping them build the company, hire the early team, structure follow on rounds and connect into a network of LPs and corporate partners that includes leading semiconductor and photonics players. Our role in this partnership is to bring capital and venture building expertise to companies that benefit from Siemens Cre8Ventures’ industrial validation platform.

What Siemens Cre8Ventures brings

Siemens Cre8Ventures adds something distinctive: industrial validation before industrial commitment. The Cre8Ventures platform does not take equity in start ups and does not make venture investments. It is a collaborative venturing platform that connects start ups to engineering tools, digital twin validation and industrial customers. Through it, start ups can access three progressive stages of support.

Proof of Technology. Help with ideation through the Siemens Cre8Ventures Higher Education Program (alongside Arm), access to Siemens EDA and other partner tools, support on market fit, and non dilutive EU Chips Act funding.

Proof of Concept. Collaboration with the innovator’s natural customer, evidencing pre silicon power and performance claims through a subsystem Silicon Twin.

Proof of Value. Opportunities for start ups, their natural customers and the customer’s customer to collaborate across full system multi physics digital twins.

This creates a practical pathway for start ups to move from idea to validation to adoption faster, and with less technical and commercial risk.

Why this matters

Corporates, industrial leaders and public institutions all face the same problem. Too little visibility into emerging sovereign innovation, and too much risk in adopting it too late. Together, the partnership creates earlier visibility into breakthrough innovation, better technically validated deal flow, faster access to industrial customers and a clearer route from university spin out to market impact. It also strengthens sovereign supply chains across Europe, which matters increasingly to public and private buyers alike.

Joint University Campaign

A focus area of the collaboration is engagement with leading European technical universities and spin out ecosystems. The parties intend to support PhD researchers, academic spin outs and first time deep tech founders by helping them connect with venture capital, engineering tools, industrial customers, corporate partners and digital twin prototyping environments.

Europe has no shortage of ideas. It needs better mechanisms to scale them.

Looking ahead

Siemens Cre8Ventures and Cloudberry VC believe the future of sovereign innovation will be built through collaboration. By combining venture capital, industrial validation and customer access, the partnership aims to help Europe’s most promising deep tech companies move faster from lab innovation to real world deployment.
