As the calendar year comes to a close, we face the prospect of saying goodbye to someone who has been integral in keeping the Calibre toolsuite at the forefront of the EDA industry with innovative technology and functionality. Juan Rey, vice-president of Calibre engineering, will be retiring at the end of December, and we want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank him for his many contributions! His leadership, vision, and pragmatism over the years have enabled the Calibre team to pioneer many groundbreaking inventions in EDA tool architecture, design, and performance that have helped countless customers deliver designs on time, with \u201cCalibre confidence\u201d in their performance, yield, and reliability. Juan\u2019s guidance and foresight also helped create the structure and processes that will ensure ongoing innovation in the Calibre nmPlatform in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His tireless work on behalf of not only Mentor Graphics (now part of Siemens Digital Industries Software), but also the entire EDA industry, is evident in the many research papers, keynote and panel presentations, and patents that bear his name. His leadership of EDA conferences, advisory boards, and industry organizations are a testament to his dedication and determination to ensure that both the EDA and semiconductor industries continue to move forward together in the quest to provide the novel technologies that underlie the digital transformation of industries, businesses, and the products they deliver.
