The jury then awards up to 100 points and select the best solutions and awards a prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury was overwhelmed by the number of participants and the creativity of the submitted solutions. In addition, the quality of the solutions was excellent. Overall, over 80% of all submitted solutions were correct! We never expected that students from China, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, India, Kazakhstan, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, and the United Kingdom would participate!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"471\" height=\"341\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6188\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Following the evaluation of the submitted solutions, Plant Simulation Badges were sent to all successful participants. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"340\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture3.png 340w, https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture3-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Now the winners have been selected and have received their awards.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"605\" height=\"303\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture4.png 605w, https:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/10\/Picture4-600x300.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What were the challenges?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Simulate and analyze a battery charging station for a highway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the cars do not arrive at equal intervals, but in a statistically distributed intervals, the challenge became quite tricky. In addition, the length of the car and the available length of the waiting line had to be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the average waiting times in front of the charging stations had to be calculated for a given number of batteries charging stations at the gas station. In addition, the maximum number of cars to be handled per hour on average had to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then a proposal had be developed for the optimal number of automobile charging stations for the operator of the battery charging station.
