6 November\n2019 – Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Siemens Digital Industries Software today\nofficially launched the first-of-its-kind Siemens Digital Experience Centre in\nSoutheast Asia, to help equip students with digitalization skills and boost\nproduct innovation among Small and Medium businesses (SMBs) in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an\nacademic partner of Siemens Digital Industries Software, 80 students from SP\u2019s\nSchool of Electrical & Electronic Engineering will also be trained to use\nthe Solid Edge\u00ae software for 3D design, simulation, visualization,\nmanufacturing, and design management. These students could also be helping SMBs\nto digitalize their systems and processes with their newly acquired skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located on\nthe polytechnic\u2019s campus at Dover Road, the SP & Siemens Digital Experience\nCentre has an area of 80 square metres and is equipped with the latest\ntechnology from Siemens\u2019 Xcelerator\u2122 portfolio, which are used by leading\ncompanies in various industries including automotive, aerospace and high-tech\nelectronics to accelerate all aspects of product creation and manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the center,\nSMBs will also experience first-hand how digitalization and modelling software\ncan improve and streamline their design processes and manufacturing systems\nwithout the need for physical prototypes, leading to a potential increase in\nproductivity and cost saving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To further\nequip more industry professionals with digitalization skills, both Siemens\nDigital Industries Software and SP could also jointly develop relevant SkillsFuture\ncourses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
