Among these teams is the <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchin.ltu.edu\/project\/13494\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">Blue Devil Motorsports<\/A> team, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ltu.edu\/formulasae\/the-team.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">Lawrence Technological University&#8217;s FSAE team <\/A>.As a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plm.automation.siemens.com\/global\/en\/our-story\/partners\/partner-program-grant.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">academic partner program<\/A> at Siemens Digital Industries Software, Blue Devil Motorsports has access to the most <a href=\"https:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/t5\/Academic-News\/Advanced-engineering-tools-for-student-vehicle-teams\/ba-p\/590035\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">advanced engineering tools for student vehicle teams<\/A>, including NX, STAR-CCM+, Fibersim, and Amesim along <span class=\"lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-left\" style=\"width: 336px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/09\/2020-better-car-1.png\" width=\"336\" height=\"257\" alt=\"2020 better car.png\" title=\"2020 better car.png\" \/><span class=\"lia-inline-image-caption\">2020 Internal Combustion car.<\/span><\/span>with access to hundreds of e-learning courses. Over the past year the team started utilized NX and Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to design, manufacture, test and race a formula style racecar. The team also collaborated with Siemens to <a href=\"https:\/\/community.plm.automation.siemens.com\/t5\/Formula-Student-FSAE-Forum\/Prebuilt-STAR-CCM-sim-w-reconfigurable-built-in-CAD\/td-p\/533075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">develop CFD content<\/A> for FSAE teams, in order to further FSAE support teams.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>This year\u2019s 2019 vehicle was the most technologically advanced car they\u2019ve ever built. The power plant for the car included a 2018 Yamaha R6 engine cooled by twin radiators, paddle controlled pneumatic shifting for lightning fast shifts, and improved suspension design to accommodate a 10-inch wheels. All of this is bolted to a lightweight steel spaceframe with excellent stiffness. Shauna\u2019s team works together for about 9 months to build each racecar. Comprised of students from all grade levels (Freshman to Senior), FSAE provides an exclusive opportunity for students to put theory and practice to the test. It requires thousands of hours of work from the students just to make it through inspection and even more to stand on the podium. Blue Devil Motorsports attracts and builds up some of the brightest and most hardworking engineers and students in the world, forcing them to think outside the box, and gives them an opportunity to network with alumni and industry leaders.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P><span class=\"lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-left\" style=\"width: 290px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sw.siemens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/09\/2019-team-2.png\" width=\"290\" height=\"189\" alt=\"2019 team.png\" title=\"2019 team.png\" \/><span class=\"lia-inline-image-caption\">The LTU Blue Devil Motorsports 2019 Team.<\/span><\/span>The LTU Blue Devil Motorsports team ranked 71<SUP>st<\/SUP> out of 129 overall with a 58<SUP>th<\/SUP> out of 129 presentation result. Their best event was the Acceleration race where they place 31<SUP>st<\/SUP> out of 129 teams. While dynamic events consist of races evaluating the performance of a car for acceleration, skidpad, autocross, and endurance, the static events measure the team\u2019s design, marketing, financial, and management abilities.
