He entered his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plm.automation.siemens.com\/en_us\/academic\/resources\/solid-edge\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Solid Edge<\/A> design of a&nbsp;Motor Turbofan&nbsp;into the Siemens PLM Software&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.plm.automation.siemens.com\/app\/gallery\/?action=gallery.studentimageentry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Student Design Competition.<\/A><\/P><br \/>\n<P><IMG title=\"aug2015-large_tcm1023-241535.jpg\" alt=\"aug2015-large_tcm1023-241535.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/siemensplm.i.lithium.com\/t5\/image\/serverpage\/image-id\/17327iDCEE53BAD0F8E350\/image-size\/medium?v=mpbl-1&amp;px=-1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/P><br \/>\n<P>We caught up with&nbsp;Andres to ask him about his design and here&#8217;s what he had to say:<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>I want to continue my dream of becoming the best designer.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><OL><br \/>\n<LI>What is your field of study?<\/LI><br \/>\n<\/OL><br \/>\n<P>My field of study is aeronautic engineering<\/P><\/p>\n<p><OL start=\"2\"><br \/>\n<LI>Why did you choose this project\/design &#8211; what gave you the idea?<\/LI><br \/>\n<\/OL><br \/>\n<P>Because it was a project of the university, I had to design a turbofan engine<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>3.What challenges did you face during the design\/build?<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The biggest challenge was to make the design of the compressor and turbine stages also to assemble these parts with the combustion chamber.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><OL start=\"4\"><br \/>\n<LI>What features of Solid Edge did you use to develop your project?<\/LI><br \/>\n<\/OL><br \/>\n<P>I work in ordered by using operations as: Extrude for fan, revolution and revolution cutting, for compressor and turbine stages and combustion chamber, protrusion sections,pattern and symmetry for airfoils and holes of combustion chamber.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><OL start=\"5\"><br \/>\n<LI>Would you recommend Solid Edge to another student?
